Boro work it across the host's half and it works across to Giles from about 30 yards. Difficult one to get right, waiting it to come across his body, but it's well-paced for him to have a go, which he does, but it's well over in the end.

Cynical drag down as Sheffield United looked to break

Last-ditch tackle from Anel to stop Archer. McGree with a wonderful volleyed pass in behind the line and Archer beats the offside trap. Running through, the tackle comes just as he was about to pull the trigger.

Initially he dives down at Ndiaye's feet and makes a block. As the hosts recycle it, Anel breaks into the box and Steffen again makes a great save as he uses his body as a shield to make an important block

Boro lead! Superb drive out from the back all the way to the edge from Giles. The chance to shoot just didn't come and it looked like the chance had gone. Boro refused to give it up though and with a challenge on the edge it runs through kindly for Archer who smashes it in.

No changes coming for either side

Brilliant half that. Two sides full of intent and playing at a fast pace. Credit to #Boro, it looked like it could be long evening for them in that first ten mins, going behind too. But their response has been excellent. Equalised and had much the better chances since too.

Home fans started to get a little restless towards the end of the half, frustrated with how the game was going.

Boro end the half probably just the better side overall, but Sheff Utd were a threat when they countered.

Home fans getting frustrated as Boro win possession around the halfway line and break. Akpom does well and feeds to McGree who is breaking into the box from the left. He drives and then tries to drill it with power but it's the wrong side of the post and into the side netting.

Archer doing really well to fashion a chance on the edge. It's blocked by the crowd in the box but out to Howson who crosses to Akpom back post. He volleys from beyond the back post goalwards and Foderingham gets an important touch as Forss was lurking for a tap in.

Sheff Utd's turn to respond well to conceding. Opens up for N'Diaye again on the edge of the box but he just can't get enough behind his shot as Steffen saves.

Straight away Akpom can't hold it up and the hosts come again. Falls for Bogle on the edge and he hits with real venom and Steffen opts to make sure by palming behind.

Two sides going at it. Really good stuff. Sheff Utd put Boro under real pressure in the first ten minutes but Boro have responded so well and have a deserved equaliser.

After that initial spell of home side dominance, Boro have dominated possession and done well, but Sheff Utd have remained a threat on the counter and look capable every time they build an attack.

N'Diaye causing problems again. He runs into the final third and then passes to McBurnie on the edge. He's given the space to try and bend one and Steffen isn't sure diving down to his right, but it is wide.

Boro level! Brilliant play and deserved after a good response from Boro. Forss excellent down the right to beat Lowe. Slips it inside to Akpom who drops the shoulder and beats Robinson then smashes it across goal and into the back of the net.

More good play from Boro on the break as Howson does well to set Giles off down the left. They work it across the Forss on the right who goes inside to Smith who on the edge, from a slight angle, sees a gap and has a pop. He hits it sweetly enough, but it's just over.

Much better play from Boro who are slowly starting to settle. Forss and McGree link well and McGree cuts back for Forss as he arrives into the area. Forced to hit with his left, he just leans back and slices over the bar. Good chance for Boro that.

Boro trying to play some football and control the ball but the come unstuck on the right wing. Smith keeps it in but in turn hands Sheff Utd a chance to break as he tumbles and therefore makes sure to bring the Sheff Utd player with him to stop the break.

Boro really under the cosh here. N'Diaye this time running in behind the backline. In the end he runs it too far and Steffen is able to block at his feet.

Boro need to get to grips with this game. They've not started here.

Surely Dael Fry is in tonight to mark McBurnie on set-pieces. It was a throw but Boro are surely aware that Sheff Utd are capable of that? Why isn't Fry marking McBurnie?
