On Monday, government investigators conducted a search on the real estate owned by rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs.

The Department of Homeland Security has disclosed that it carried out "law enforcement activities as a component of an ongoing investigation" in three major cities in the United States including New York, Los Angeles, and Miami.

As a part of the investigation, two locations in Los Angeles and Miami were searched.

Authorities did not provide any details as to why the raids were carried out or if they were directly related to Mr. Combs.

Numerous legal cases have alleged that Mr. Combs engaged in sexual impropriety.

Mr. Combs' attorneys stated that the claims against him are without merit and criticized the use of excessive military-style force during the raids.

Homeland Security Investigations agents were carrying out their activities on Monday at the enormous estate spanning 17,000 square feet, where Mr. Combs revealed his most recent music album release in September.

The house is located in the posh locality of Holmby Hills in Los Angeles, which is the abode of many famous people and even the Playboy Mansion. The address is linked with Mr Combs' Bad Boy Films production company.

According to two authorities in law enforcement, the recent raids were conducted as a component of an ongoing inquiry regarding sex trafficking.

The news has not been verified by BBC on its own.

In the previous year, the well-known R&B artist known as Cassie, whose complete name is Casandra Ventura, initiated legal proceedings in a federal court in New York against Mr. Combs. The two had been romantically involved between the years 2005 to 2018.

She claimed to have undergone several years of mistreatment by the rapper according to legal papers, although she eventually resolved the case with him.

Two additional females have stepped forward with legal claims asserting that Mr. Combs sexually abused them. Furthermore, a male individual has made allegations against Mr. Combs, stating that he engaged in improper sexual behavior.

On Monday, Douglas Wigdor, the attorney representing Ms Ventura and another individual who claims to be a victim, stated that his clients are in favor of the police's actions.

Mr. Wigdor expressed in a statement that he hopes this is the start of a procedure that will ensure that Mr. Combs is held accountable for his despicable actions.

Attorney Aaron Dyer, who is handling Mr Combs' case, restated on Tuesday that his client wasn't taken into custody and claimed that the search was merely a targeted investigation spurred by frivolous claims made in civil lawsuits. Dyer branded the operation as a fruitless persecution.

He stated that there is no justification for the exaggerated display of aggression and animosity displayed by those in power, nor for the manner in which his offspring and staff members were handled.

Mr. Combs was not held in custody, however, he talked to and collaborated with the authorities.

None of the accusations against Mr. Combs have resulted in a criminal or civil responsibility. He is not guilty, and he will persist in his efforts to vindicate himself.

Combs is still recognized as one of the most powerful and important producers in the world of hip-hop for the last few decades.

The individual who established Bad Boy Records is a recipient of three Grammy awards. He has collaborated with renowned performers such as Usher and Mary J Blige.
