Alright, let me clarify for those who are not keeping up, and based on recent events, that seems to be the majority of you.

The mock draft presented is a forecast of what might happen, not a suggestion of who should be selected. It is solely a predictive mock draft that can be evaluated for its correctness (although I do not particularly care about the outcome). The basis of this draft is my personal opinion of how the process will unfold, rather than how it ought to occur. It is important to distinguish between the two.

Let's return to my practice exercise.

Whenever we create our prognostications, we begin with a winning record of 1-0. The reason behind this is simple: we're confident that the Chicago Bears will select Caleb Williams, the quarterback from USC, as their top pick. This forecast is straightforward.

It becomes more challenging.

In my prediction, I see Jayden Daniels, the quarterback for LSU, being selected as the second choice for the Washington Commanders. However, I have a different prediction for the pick after that. I believe that the New York Giants will move up from their original sixth position to the third pick in order to draft Drake Maye from North Carolina. This will result in a deal between the Giants and the New England Patriots where the Giants give up their sixth pick, a second-round choice for this year, and a second-round pick for the following year to acquire Maye.

The Patriots will receive valuable draft picks and will choose Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy as their sixth pick. According to sources in the league, they are very interested in this player. This trade would benefit both teams, although I believe Maye is a superior player.

In this practice draft, I predict that the Philadelphia Eagles will trade for a cornerback. Specifically, I think they will make a deal with the Denver Broncos to move up to the 12th spot and select Terrion Arnold from Alabama. As part of this trade, the Eagles would give up their first-round pick (currently at No. 22), along with a second-round pick (No. 50) and a fourth-round pick in 2025.

The Denver team is planning to exchange their position and select Bo Nix, the quarterback from Oregon. In addition to this opportunity, they will also acquire some valuable draft choices.

That sums up the fundamentals of my mock draft for 2024. Take it as you wish - but I guarantee there will be plenty of yelling and disagreement once the first few picks are made.
