The existence of the creature was first mentioned in the first series of The Mandalorian, when Kulli tells titular character Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) his Mandalorian ancestors rode and tamed the mythosaur.

After being captured by a enemy droid and saved by Bo-Katan, Din-Djarin to bathe in the Living Waters, which are sacred, so he can atone for removing his helmet in Season 2 and be redeemed.
The mythical beast is glimpsed when Bo-Katan dives into the Living Waters to save Din Djarin, who leaves his heavy armour on while wading in and falls off a steep cliff edge beneath the surface.
