The lead singer of Dire Straits, Mark Knopfler, has mentioned that it's highly improbable for him to perform with the band once more.

Knopfler stated that he has no plans to perform with the group once more. His goal is to diversify and collaborate with new musicians, and to increase the number of performers in his shows. However, he expressed his fondness for touring in the past.

The most exciting moment for me was when I had a larger band consisting of around six to seven guys. This was even better than the smaller four-piece band that we had before, which I also enjoyed.

In 1977, together with his brother David and buddies John Illsley and Pick Withers, he established a band that gained worldwide recognition with chart-topping tracks such as "Romeo and Juliet", "Money for Nothing", and "Sultans of Swing". However, their journey came to an end in 1995 when they disbanded.

Knopfler expressed no remorse regarding his time in the band and declared that he thoroughly enjoyed it while it lasted. However, he acknowledged that the band grew so large that he was no longer familiar with all the road crew members.

He stated that they had grown so much that they had to skip some stages and move ahead quickly in order to cope with their growth. This is something that has to be done when a company reaches a certain level of success.

The famous guitar player shared his thoughts while being interviewed on the TV show BBC Breakfast. He explained that one of the explanations he declined to play with the group was that he had built his personal recording area that he adores very much.

He said that he has not experienced any bad days while working there. In fact, he has been able to challenge himself more than ever before. Specifically, when it comes to his most recent album, he admits that he may have created an excessive amount of songs.

The musician has teamed up with his bandmate Guy Fletcher to create a charity single for the Teenage Cancer Trust. They gathered a group of over 60 performers, such as Bruce Springsteen, Sir Brian May, and Eric Clapton, to make a nine-minute recording of "Going Home (Theme From Local Hero)."

The album came out on March 15 and had appearances by Slash, Sting, Roger Daltrey, and Sir Ringo Starr. It was launched by Guitar Heroes, the band that the star leads.

Knopfler is currently in the process of creating his upcoming personal music project, titled One Deep River, which is set to be released on April 12.
