Police at Manchester Airport surrounded a plane with many passengers after they received an email claiming there was a bomb onboard, which later turned out to be fake.

Several flights were said to have been redirected when an Emirates plane originating from Dubai was detained on the tarmac upon its arrival in the northwestern region around 7pm on Tuesday night.

Police officers from Greater Manchester were quick to respond along with multiple fire engine teams, after they received a false email notification indicating the presence of a potential threat package on board.

Someone who saw the situation informed that many police officers were present at the airport. Additionally, it is believed that the airstrip had to be shut down temporarily as the emergency services were managing the matter.

GMP has stated that they conducted security inspections, and nothing dubious was discovered. As a result, passengers were able to exit the plane without issue. No one has been detained as of now.

. Tonight, upon its arrival at Manchester Airport, the Emirates Airbus A380 was encircled by law enforcement officials.

Someone who saw it happen said that there were many police officers at the airport earlier today. Other people have also said that there were a lot of police officers and a few fire trucks nearby.

The Airbus A380-842 took off from the United Arab Emirates around 2:50 pm local time. It can accommodate up to 525 passengers and arrived in Manchester at 7:22 pm after the journey.

According to MailOnline, the landing area was closed for a brief time, leading to the rerouting of three trips originating from Palma, Paphos, and London Heathrow.

A representative from GMP revealed that in the evening of Tuesday, October 17, at approximately 7:20pm, they received an email notifying them of a dubious package on a flight.

The plane arrived at Manchester Airport and was awaiting further evaluation.

Investigations and safety inspections have been conducted, and to date, no questionable objects have been detected.

The travelers have left the plane now and there are additional officials present to respond to any inquiries and provide visible comfort. There have been no apprehensions thus far.
