Huw Edwards

The BBC has announced the departure of Huw Edwards, who was serving as a news anchor.

According to the BBC, the determination was established "based on medical counsel".

The announcement has been made nine months after the 62-year-old presenter from Llanelli was accused of sharing inappropriate pictures.

Edwards, a newsreader for the BBC who earned the most money, was alleged to have paid a teenager several thousand pounds in exchange for pictures of a sexual nature.

According to a representative from the BBC, Huw Edwards has decided to resign from his position and depart from the BBC. He has served with the company for an impressive 40 years, but has chosen to do so based on recommendations provided by his medical professionals.

The BBC has agreed to his resignation and considers that it will enable everyone involved to make progress. We don't think it's suitable to provide any additional remarks.

The BBC said sorry to the family who had made the allegations for the way it dealt with their grievance back in February.

The company was charged with a delay in addressing the grievances.

The accusations were initially brought to light in an article released by The Sun in July of the prior year.

It was claimed that Edwards had given the adolescent over £35,000 for photographs that were sexually suggestive.

In its first article, the newspaper did not mention the former BBC host by name.

The Metropolitan Police declared that it would not pursue any additional measures after five days since the initial report, as they did not deem any illicit conduct had occurred.
