The "Shepmates", who are twin brothers named Archie and Miles Shepherd, have gained fame for their lip-sync commentary videos. They captured footage of a Mercedes F1 driver while he was using the restroom, with one of the twins standing beside him.

The caption on TikTok read: "Imagine this scenario: You run into George Russell at the urinals." The pair who posted the video has removed it from the platform. They have also made a public apology on social media and privately contacted Russell to express their regret.

In the video, one of the siblings states: "I just relieved myself beside George Russell. You might be wondering, how large is it? However, that remains a secret between George and me. The men's toilet has privacy policies that must be respected."

In my opinion, he appears to be quite calm and at ease on the stream. We spent quite some time together, suggesting that he must have hydrated himself well and gotten ready for the race. He really let everything out.

Shane McInnes, a sports presenter from Australia, who is associated with Nine Radio, strongly criticized the video made by the pair. He also urged that they should not be given access to any forthcoming F1 races.

On Twitter/X, he expressed his disgust towards the actions of the Shepmates who filmed George Russell in a bathroom stall during the Aus GP. The said video was then posted on social media platforms, Instagram and Tik Tok. Additionally, the Shepmates had the audacity to brag about their disgraceful act, which is completely unacceptable and immoral.

Do you think they will say sorry? However, in case they do, their authorization for upcoming competitions should still be declined.

During the Australian Grand Prix, George Russell was recorded while using the restroom.

Following the removal of the video, the members of Shepmates posted a statement on their Instagram story. They acknowledged that their content had gone overboard.

They stated their goal was to honor athletic champions and analysts, along with adding some playful entertainment for sports enthusiasts. However, they acknowledge that their recent content had accidentally caused distress and disagreement amongst sports fans worldwide, and they find this objectionable.

"We admit that we made a terrible mistake and express our sincere apology. We made an effort to contact George on a personal level to deliver our apology."

At the moment, there has been no official statement from either Mercedes or Russell regarding the video.

Russell decided to end his participation in the Australian Grand Prix on the second to last lap. The race was won by Carlos Sainz. During the event, Russell was involved in a severe accident that caused his Mercedes car to flip over onto its side. This resulted in his retirement from the race.

Fernando Alonso received a penalty of 20 seconds due to an incident where it was determined that he was responsible for brake testing Russell.

On a dreadful day for Mercedes, Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time world champion and Russell's colleague, was also forced to retire due to an engine problem.
