Earlier this year, there was a report on August 29th revealing that three original Tesla Roadster sports cars were found deserted inside shipping containers in China. A Chinese car firm had acquired these vehicles more than ten years ago with the intention of using them for research and development. However, due to the company's financial collapse, these cars were left unused and stored away.

The vehicles initially had a potential buyer who proposed a price of 2 million US dollars (equivalent to about 14.58 million Japanese yen based on the current exchange rate). However, due to concerns regarding insurance and parts, the purchaser ultimately decided against the acquisition. Presently, these automobiles are on their way to the United States and are anticipated to reach their destination by September 5th.

Gruber Motors, in charge of the auction and transportation, expressed that once the vehicles reach the United States, they will undergo cleaning and processing. They foresee the possibility of a renewed interest in bidding. They hold the belief that these cars are valuable artifacts that belong in museums rather than being utilized as everyday vehicles, given their status as antique electric vehicles and their position as one of the earliest of its kind uncovered.
