After much anticipation, Dubai has at last decided to join the ABA League for the upcoming season, as per the report by Meridian Sport.

The report states that Dubai was approved by nine clubs during today's Assembly. However, Partizan opposed its inclusion, and Buducnost was not present at the gathering.

Last week, the clubs met in Zagreb to make a decision but they postponed it and gave themselves seven days to make a final choice. Ultimately, they agreed to let Dubai become a part of the ABA League, with most of the clubs agreeing with the decision.

There are going to be some alterations to the ABA League in the upcoming season. Along with the 13 squads who successfully avoided demotion this year, the champions of the ABA 2 league will also participate, making a total of 14 teams. The 15th position will be fought over by the ABA 1's lowest-ranking team and the ABA 2 league's runner-up. Dubai has secured the 16th and final spot.

The way is now unobstructed for the EuroLeague to confirm that the Dubai squad will indeed become a part of the league, perhaps even competing in the BKT EuroCup in the upcoming season.

As per sources from Eurohoops, it should be mentioned that the addition of Dubai to the ABA League will not have any impact on the qualification of local teams in EuroLeague or EuroCup. Dubai is deemed as an exceptional circumstance and the eligibility of other ABA League teams will remain as it is.
