Birmingham airport suspends operations after plane security incident

Birmingham Airport

The airport in Birmingham has halted its activities for the time being due to a safety issue that occurred on a plane.

An airport representative stated that the plane landed without issues and all of the people on board have left the aircraft. Anyone who was planning to fly should go to the airport and check in as they usually would.

Several flights scheduled to land at the airport on Tuesday evening experienced delays, causing the arrivals board to display flights from approximately 4:20 pm as being behind schedule.

Sources informed The Guardian that the crew and ground team of the aircraft were able to efficiently evacuate all passengers from the plane upon touchdown. Authorities, including the police and specialists, rushed to the scene to promptly evaluate whether the object presented any direct peril.

In the United Kingdom, the probability of a terrorist attack remains high, as indicated by the substantial threat level. This threat level happens to be the third out of five levels of potential danger.
