A planned protest involving over 150 individuals responsible for security and technical duties at Birmingham Airport has been called off due to a recent proposal regarding salary adjustments.

The planned strike was scheduled to commence on Tuesday, but will be temporarily halted while union members are surveyed, according to Unite, the trade union.

If the proposal is declined, the commencement of strike action will take place on the first of August, it appended.

A representative from the airport expressed their desire for the new proposal to be agreed upon, stating that their primary goal is to prioritize customer service.

"We will refrain from providing any additional statements until the outcome of the vote is disclosed," stated Sulinder Singh, Unite's regional representative.
