After agreeing to a memorandum of understanding at the end of March, Messe Frankfurt's branch in Hong Kong and Vietrade are teaming up to establish a global gathering for the entire textile industry.

Wendy Wen, the managing director of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, stated that the Texpertise Network is the perfect worldwide structure to introduce the integrated textile supply chain platform, using Intertextile Apparel in Shanghai as a great illustration.

She mentioned that VIATT will embody the Texpertise concept in a single platform, which is a comprehensive and inclusive sourcing event for purchasers across all product categories. This platform caters to buyers seeking all types of textile-related items, including apparel, fabrics, yarns, fibers, machinery, technical textiles, nonwovens, and other related products.

Le Hoang Tai, the deputy director general of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency, stated that Vietnam is a top producer and exporter of textiles worldwide and is also a major manufacturing center in Southeast Asia.

Our company has a lot of knowledge in running trade exhibitions all over Vietnam. We are enthusiastic to team up with Messe Frankfurt to assist foreign visitors in discovering the potential of our country's rapidly expanding textile industry. Additionally, the accessibility of Ho Chi Minh City, combined with Vietnam's location close to other major textile-producing countries like Bangladesh, Cambodia, China and India, makes it the best choice to host this type of event, as explained by our representative.

We are happy to announce the inclusion of a new location for our textile events worldwide. VIATT in Vietnam fits well in Texpertise, the global textile network owned by Messe Frankfurt. Other textile events in this group consist of popular brands such as Heimtextil, Techtextil and Texprocess in Frankfurt, along with Texworld located in both Paris and New York City. Additionally, the network includes Intertextile and Yarn Expo in China, among many other events. Olaf Schmidt, who serves as the Vice President of Textiles and Textile Technologies at Messe Frankfurt, explained this exciting news.

Vietnam has a thriving domestic textile industry that has caught the attention of international textile manufacturers. As the world's third-largest textile and garment exporter, Vietnam's potential for growth is highly promising. This has resulted in several textile companies investing and expanding their operations in the country.

The textile and garment sector of Vietnam has experienced remarkable year-on-year expansion, ranging from 20% to 26% between the years 2018 and 2022, as indicated by the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association.

Vietnam's industry heavily relies on garment production because they are big importers of textile machinery, fibers, fabrics, and yarns. They use various materials such as cotton and functional textiles to produce a wide range of clothing, including kids' wear, workwear, swimwear, casualwear, and more. One category that's particularly growing fast is sportswear. Moreover, high-purpose garments are expected to have significant export value.

VIATT 2024 will have a significant impact on the future of Vietnam's textile industry by connecting textile companies from various parts of Asia, Europe, and other regions with this lively market. The upcoming fair will showcase a diverse range of exhibitors, both domestic and international, specializing in various textile sub-sectors including garments, fabric and accessory production, yarn and fibre manufacturing, digital printing, home textiles, technical textiles, nonwoven fabrics, textile processing, textile machinery, and more.

The exhibition not only presents a global trading platform, but it also features a range of insightful activities such as seminars, forums, and panel discussions. These events enable attendees to connect with industry experts, as well as gain diverse perspectives on the market.
