Classy Leeds? Will Ferrell reportedly joins celebrity investors at football club

According to reports, Will Ferrell is soon going to be a small part owner of the Championship soccer team Leeds United, joining a list of famous people who have invested in the club.

As per a news report in the Sun newspaper, Ferrell, a renowned actor from Hollywood, has invested in the 49ers Enterprises, the owners of Leeds. He will be joining the league of other prominent figures like Russell Crowe, a renowned thespian, Michael Phelps, a swimming legend in Olympics, and professional golfers Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas.

Ferrell, popularly recognized for his humorous performances in movies such as Anchorman, Elf and Zoolander, co-owns the soccer team Los Angeles FC in the Major League. He announced his admiration for English soccer after visiting the Manchester City vs. Aston Villa game last season.

The person who is 56 years old watched Wrexham win against Wealdstone in a match of the National League when they went on the same trip. This Welsh team were injected with life after being bought by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, both known for their work as actors in America. The team managed to win two promotions in a row, which means they will be playing in League One next season.

Leeds lost their chance to earn a spot in the Premier League without having to go through playoffs on the last day of the Championship season. They lost 2-1 at home to Southampton, but it didn't matter because Ipswich cinched second place in the standings with a 2-0 victory at home against Huddersfield.

There's a possibility for Daniel Farke's team to return to the Premier League just a year after being relegated through victory in the playoffs. Their first step is to battle against Norwich City, Farke's previous team, in the initial round at Carrow Road on the coming Sunday.

When Will Ferrell went to the Etihad Stadium before, he made friends with Manchester City player Jack Grealish. They took some pictures together and had a good time. Will Ferrell even made a prediction that turned out to be correct later on.

Ferrell expressed his joy in meeting his newly-acquainted British pal Jack Grealish at the Etihad. According to Ferrell, Grealish advised him to acquire Birmingham City and ensure they descend to League Two. Later on, the American investors took over the club, and unfortunately, the team faced relegation to League One. Nonetheless, they managed to win their final match against Norwich.
