A blaze has ravaged the historic Crooked House pub from the 18th century shortly after being purchased by an individual.

The pub located in Himley, West Midlands, received a fire alarm at 10.45pm last Saturday, prompting the response of firefighters and police officers.

Pictures taken at the scene reveal the popular bar consumed by flames.

According to Staffordshire Police, the fire was put out and there were no casualties reported.

Police and fire investigators are currently collaborating to determine the origins of the fire.

This development arrives shortly after news surfaced that Marston's had successfully offloaded the establishment to an individual purchaser.

According to a Facebook update shared by The Crooked House on July 27th, the establishment has been successfully purchased and it is highly unlikely that it will resume its operations in the future.

Marston's have transferred the ownership of the location to a non-public purchaser with intentions for a different type of utilization, and that's the extent of our knowledge.
