Danny Dyer from EastEnders, comedians Leigh Francis and Rhod Gilbert, and the talented BBC Radio 1 presenter Yinka Bokinni all took their turn in the spotlight on the grand stage of the large white tent. They were subjected to the critical scrutiny of the ever-present Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.

The team's Signature challenge was to create 12 intricately designed biscuit figures. Gilbert, who has been fighting stage four cancer since 2022, confessed that he had never baked anything besides a potato.

So, it was expected that he would forget to mold his gingerbread men (which were meant to look like a Paul Hollywood schedule) before baking the dough.

What, How, And Why?

"Oh dear... Oh dear you foolish person!" exclaimed Gilbert while peering into the oven. "I forgot to mold them into their desired forms before placing them inside. I am uncertain about what to do - maybe we should keep them in there for now."

After a while, the man from Wales, who was still breathing heavily, removed his unidentified baked goods from the oven. He then spoke to the cameras saying, "Wow, these are definitely gingerbread men, no doubt about it... Would it be okay if I cut them into different shapes after they're baked?"

Lucky for him, his gingerbread had a tender consistency that allowed for this exact scenario. "These are actually tastier than I anticipated," he grinned after trying out the stencil cutter. "There are multiple methods for creating a cookie!"

Prior to displaying the completed cookies to Hollywood and Leith, he chuckled, expressing satisfaction by saying, "I am truly happy."

Some famous personalities were recently featured on Channel 4. These include Yinka Bokinni, Danny Dyer, Gilbert, and Leigh Francis.

More From The Great Celebrity Bake Off?

The most recent episode of the Celebrity Bake Off involved the participants making lemon fondant fancies and creating their "most significant cake disaster." Additionally, the winner of the Star Baker award was Francis, who is known for his appearances on Celebrity Juice.

As he looked back on his personal experience with cancer, Gilbert expressed, "It's really touching for me to be in this moment because the truth is that I'm fortunate to still be here. When I was diagnosed with cancer, I became aware that I had been living my life assuming that cancer only happens to someone else. The reality is that half of us will face cancer at some point in our lives – that's a startling and unsettling thought."
