On Thursday, Mandisa, who won a Grammy award and previously competed on American Idol, was discovered deceased in her residence located in Nashville.

It is still not clear what led to her death.

A female artist who goes by the name Mandisa Lynn Hundley originally hails from Citrus Heights, California, and is currently 47 years old. She participated in the fifth season of a well-known singing competition in 2006, and Taylor Hicks became the victor. Despite finishing in the top 10, she achieved success by bringing out her first album, True Beauty, in 2007, and progressed towards a thriving career in the world of Christian music.

She launched multiple albums after that, including Freedom, It's Christmas, What if We Were Real, Out Of the Dark, and Overcomer. Additionally, she released Overcomer: The Greatest Hits in 2020.

In 2010, 2012, and 2014, Mandisa was awarded with Grammys for her albums in Contemporary Christian Music, as well as for her Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album and her Best Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music Performance.

Beginning her professional journey with the Fisk Jubilee Singers at Fisk University located in Nashville, the vocalist initiated her music career.

One of the initial sources to announce her passing was K-Love Radio, a Christian broadcasting service located in the United States. The Independent has gotten in touch with True Artist Management, which was Mandisa's talent agency, to obtain a statement.
