Oasis: Liam Gallagher announces 30th anniversary Definitely Maybe tour

Liam Gallagher

Liam Gallagher revealed his plans to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Oasis's first album, Definitely Maybe, by performing a full tour of the album.

Gallagher expressed his excitement at the upcoming Definitely Maybe tour by saying that he was moving energetically around the house. He believes that the album is the most significant one of the 90s, without any doubt. This album has played a crucial role in both his life and those of his fans, and he looks forward to celebrating it together during the tour.

During the trip, the best-loved songs that Oasis presented while traveling for their Definitely Maybe album will be included. These songs include Whatever, Fade Away, Listen Up, and Sad Song.

The journey starts in Sheffield on June 2, 2024 and ends on June 27, which is one day before the start of Glastonbury festival.

It is probable that Gallagher will perform alongside the founding member of Oasis, Paul Arthurs (also known as Bonehead), who recently returned to touring with him following his battle with cancer in the tonsils. In September 2022, he confirmed that doctors have declared him healthy and that he is on the road to recovery.

Fans have been impatiently anticipating an Oasis reunion for 14 years, after brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher separated the group in 2009 and stopped talking to each other.

The duo previously strongly refuted any speculation about getting back together - and they turned down some very profitable proposals to go on tour - but lately, they have entertained their followers with the possibility.

During the month of August, a Q&A session was held where Noel was questioned about the members that would comprise the Oasis crew if they were to join forces again.

Let me talk about Liam for a moment. It's interesting because we're all at a certain age now. In the past, having a cool hairstyle was important in Oasis, so it will be interesting to see how everyone's hair looks now. Personally, I am committed to this and will participate no matter what. I am not sure who will be there, but it will be me, Liam and a bunch of attractive women.

Certainly Possibly, which was made available on Creation Records in August 1994, is a seminal album in the history of British music and contributed to shaping the Britpop period. It achieved a number one status immediately after it was released, making it the fastest-selling first-ever album in British music history at that time. Subsequently, it was awarded eight platinum certifications.

Despite the challenging process of recording in different studios, the end result of the project managed to exceed expectations and became a surprise hit.

Rob Sheffield, a critic for Rolling Stone, reviewed the reissue of Oasis’ first album in 2014. He wrote that the album still stands out after 20 years as a celebration of smoking, drinking and simple guitar solos that exemplify the uncivilized character of British music.

Liam often sings tracks from his album as well as from the collection of songs from Oasis at his individual performances. His most recent personal album was "C'mon You Know" which he released in 2022. On the other hand, Noel, along with his group, The High Flying Birds, recently published "Council Skies".

You can purchase your tickets for the Definitely Maybe anniversary tour starting at 9am BST on 20 October.
