Get your journals and oversized undergarments out because it's confirmed that the beloved character Bridget Jones will make a comeback for her fourth cinematic installment.

Renée Zellweger is set to revisit her celebrated character in Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, and she'll be joined by Hugh Grant and Emma Thompson, who have both been verified to come back.

There are some fresh faces in the lineup for the upcoming movie. Chiwetel Ejiofor and Leo Woodall, who is currently receiving a lot of attention for his work in The White Lotus and One Day, are among the new talents joining the cast. The film will be directed by Michael Morris and is named after the most recent Bridget Jones book released back in 2013.

In the upcoming plot, Bridget will be in her fifties, and, if you don't want any spoilers, kindly stop reading here. She will be searching for love once more, having become a mother of two after the tragic loss of Mark Darcy (portrayed by Colin Firth).

Although the production company has not made an official statement about sticking to the book's storyline, the screenplay for the movie has been crafted by its author Helen Fielding.

We don't have any information yet about the roles of the new actors, but it's said that Leo may be portraying Bridget's romantic partner who is younger than her.

The filming of this movie will commence during this year, and it has been scheduled to be released on Valentine's Day 2025 in the United States.

In 2013, Helen disclosed to the BBC that she wrote Mad About the Boy in secrecy, in order to approach it with a fresh perspective and without the weight of preconceived notions.

She shared with HuffPost UK in 2021 about a storyline from Mad About The Boy that gave her immense satisfaction. The storyline showcased her dedication to portraying older female characters in a better light. One of the most enjoyable scenes for her to write was when Bridget attended a party with her charming younger boyfriend. To everyone's amazement, her lover saved a drowning dog by ripping off his shirt and diving into the pool.

In another place, the leading man of romantic comedies, Hugh, unexpectedly confessed that he didn't feel content while performing some of his widely-known roles. He disclosed that he lacked comfort while doing those roles.
