England vs Brazil LIVE: Latest updates from Wembley friendly

England vs Brazil

Gareth Southgate, along with other individuals in the sports industry, have shared their messages of encouragement for the Princess of Wales.

Tonight, England is set to play against Brazil at Wembley Stadium as a part of their preparation for Euro 2024. Unfortunately, the English team is currently facing a crisis in injuries, which could put them at a disadvantage in today's match. Their captain, Harry Kane, and winger, Bukayo Saka, have both been ruled out of the game due to their injuries. This friendly fixture is also important for Gareth Southgate as it's one of the last opportunities for him to finalize his training squad for the European Championships this summer.

This could create chances for some players who are not typically in Southgate's plans to prove themselves and be called up to Germany. Ollie Watkins and Ivan Toney may be given the responsibility of leading the attack instead of Kane. Furthermore, Jarrad Branthwaite from Everton, Anthony Gordon from Newcastle, and Kobbie Mainoo, an 18-year-old midfielder from Manchester United, might have the opportunity to debut against Selecao.

Brazil is facing a problem with injuries before the March international break and might have to rely on a less experienced team in their game at Wembley. However, coach Dorival still has talented players like Vinicius Jr and Endrick, who is only 17 years old. On the other hand, England will be playing their first game of the year and will take on Belgium at Wembley on Tuesday night.

"Jarrad Branthwaite: Facing Haaland At PSV – A Lesson Learned"

Jarrad Branthwaite has a chance to play for the senior England team for the first time this Saturday when they face Brazil. He will be playing alongside well-known players such as Vinicius Jr and Endrick. This moment will be crucial in assessing how far he has come in his career. The previous summer, Branthwaite only made it to the bench for England's Under-21 team, and before that, he even contemplated giving up football altogether four years ago.

At 15 years of age, he was an athlete for Carlisle United, his hometown team. However, his academy contract was in danger of being cancelled due to his long-standing struggle with tendonitis. In order to regain his place, Carlisle proposed a last chance trial period of four weeks. It was his parents who convinced their adolescent child to give football one more shot, lifting his spirits and motivating him to persevere.

Without the encouragement of my parents, I may not have continued pursuing my goals. I had doubts in my head such as, "If my parents don't believe in me now, how can four weeks make a difference?". Despite this mindset, my father provided me with a plan for training and I followed through with it. This ultimately led to me receiving a scholarship.

Branthwaite is extremely grateful for football and can't imagine what he would have done if he didn't have this passion. He thinks it's funny to even suggest that he would have become a soldier as a big guy from the North. Branthwaite smiles and says that all he ever wanted to do when he was young was play football. Luckily for him, that dream became a reality. He was lost without any direction, but thankfully his dad stepped in and encouraged him to pursue his love for football.

Currently, he finds himself in a serene chamber located in St. George's Park, chatting about the journey he took from Cumbria to Wembley. Typically, football players appear distinct in person compared to their persona on the pitch, but Branthwaite resonates with the qualities that make him a remarkable young defender, such as keeping his cool, exhibiting self-assurance, and commanding a strong physical presence.

Maguire On Coping With Abuse: 'Beckham And Rooney Faced It Too'

Had Harry Maguire taken heed of the numerous opinions expressed about him last year, he would not have been grinning on the Old Trafford turf come Sunday evening, basking in the glory of Manchester United's thrilling FA Cup victory against Liverpool, as the sun set.

Maguire found himself in the midst of a controversy last year when a storm of criticism rained down on him from several former Manchester United players, including Dwight Yorke, Jaap Stam, and Wayne Rooney. The media was full of unsolicited advice urging him to abandon the club, and in retrospect, it's difficult to locate any experts who urged him to stay and persevere in his position.

He was tempted to investigate the sound and possibly even sign with West Ham. His errors had gained a lot of attention, particularly the blunders he made during the quarter-final match against Sevilla in the Europa League, causing him to become the subject of harsh criticism. This resulted in Erik ten Hag demoting him from captain to make way for Bruno Fernandes, a humiliating blow to his reputation. Despite this setback, Maguire remained with the team, however, he only played in one game out of the first ten games of the season.

Undoubtedly happy with his decision, Maguire persevered to reclaim his position in the team through injuries to fellow players Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane. This resulted in the opportunity to shine under the leadership of Ten Hag, allowing him to showcase some of his finest club performances since the spring of 2022.

Kobbie Mainoo Aims For Euro 2024 As Senior Career Takes Off

Kobbie Mainoo aims to be part of England's Euro 2024 team after making his mark with Manchester United and receiving his first ever senior call-up.

For a while now, people have thought that the young midfielder would become a star player at Old Trafford in the future. After being injured during pre-season, he has now become a crucial part of Erik ten Hag's team.

He was originally part of the under-21 team, but was later included in the senior squad for games against Brazil and Belgium following Manchester United's impressive 4-3 victory over Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Mainoo said on BBC Radio 5 Live that the past few days have been quite hectic.

The game on Sunday was fantastic and resulted in a stunning victory. When I received the call to join the under-21s, I was thrilled to accept the offer. Upon arriving and discovering that I would be with the senior team, my excitement was taken to another level. It was an unforgettable experience.

The experience took me by surprise and brought me joy, leading to a variety of different feelings that came in quick succession.

England has two friendly games to play in March during the international break. This is expected to be the final chance for certain players to demonstrate their abilities and demonstrate that they belong in the roster for Euro 2024.

Ivan Toney and Ollie Watkins are vying to become the backup No. 9 for Harry Kane. Simultaneously, James Maddison, Marcus Rashford, Cole Palmer, Phil Foden, Jarrod Bowen, and Anthony Gordon are among the current squad members who can provide different types of support on the wings. Jack Grealish has already exited, and Bukayo Saka is the most recent one to follow suit.

Gareth Southgate, the coach of the English national football team, has stated that his primary goal is winning the European Championship.

If we were to sign a contract prior to the Euros, people would question our decision as they would say, "Why are you committing to something when you still need to prove yourself?"

I definitely won't talk to anyone else before that. It's not something I have done before.

I have been working in this position for a duration of eight years. While I am working, I do not consider having a chat with anyone else.

Gareth Southgate Reacts To Manchester United Job Rumors

Gareth Southgate, the head coach of England's national football team, has stated that he won't entertain any discussions with parties until Euro 2024 has concluded. He also expressed his displeasure towards rumors linking him with Manchester United, considering it an insult towards Erik ten Hag.

It's possible that this summer's tournament will be the last one for the 53-year-old coach leading the national team. This is because his contract with the Football Association will expire in December and it may not be renewed.

Southgate has stated that discussions about his contract are currently not his priority as he is completely committed to achieving success in Germany. However, there has been an increase in speculation this week with reports suggesting that Manchester United may be interested in him.

From where I stand, I believe there are two main considerations,” expressed Southgate. “The first being that I hold the position of England manager and my primary objective is to lead the team to success at the European Championship. But before that, we have crucial matches to contend with this week.”

The next point to consider is that Manchester United already has a manager. In my opinion, it's entirely inappropriate to start speculating about a manager who is currently in the position. I hold the position of president of the LMA, and I do not have any patience for this type of behavior.

The head coach of the national football team in England, Gareth Southgate, has all his attention on the upcoming Euro 2024 tournament.

Southgate Speaks On England Injuries, Kane Doubtful Vs Belgium

Gareth Southgate discusses England's injuries:

There's no Kane, no Henderson, and no Palmer for tomorrow's game. Unfortunately, Bukayo injured his hamstring, so he couldn't practice and had to leave. However, everyone else is able to participate in the game.

A couple of players have not had much playing time recently, although everyone else has participated in our full team training sessions. There are various factors at play, as many teams in the league are also dealing with a significant number of injuries. While people are searching for an easy fix, some players have simply been unlucky and suffered injuries beyond their control.

Kane collided with the net and it caused an injury on his ankle. There are some players who have experienced multiple injuries, perhaps playing too many games after returning from a previous injury – it's a combination of many factors. The high level of intensity in games and the added minutes of playtime could be contributing to this issue.

We have a lengthy roster of 40 athletes, and approximately one-third of them are not able to participate, which is unquestionably the largest number we've ever had. Kane is unlikely to play in the second game, and we will have more details on the remaining players by Sunday.
