Birmingham vs West Brom

Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion are set to face off in a West Midlands derby in the Championship on Friday night.

Blues won the first clash between these sides earlier in the season, winning 3-2 at the Hawthorns. But the two clubs are in different places since that Wednesday night back in September.

John Eustace's side would go on to lose just three of their next 12 games before the World Cup break. The Baggies failed to win their next four games before Steve Bruce was sacked, and by the end of October they were bottom of the table.

West Brom have lost just three times since Carlos Corberan took charge, though, winning the other ten games in that time. That run of form has propelled them right into the play-off picture.

Birmingham, on the other hand, went on a five-game losing streak immediately after Christmas, which has seen them go from flirting with the top half to trying to avoid another relegation battle. They did manage to snap that run with a dramatic 4-3 win over Swansea City last week.
