French air traffic controllers' union calls strike for Sept. 15

Strike action

The primary union of air traffic controllers in France, SNCTA, has declared a strike on the 15th of September. This date just so happens to coincide with the rugby World Cup taking place in France.

The SNCTA union released a statement expressing their disapproval of the ongoing high inflation rates. They also mentioned that they are not willing to tolerate the continued depreciation of air traffic controllers' work each year.

After several months of discussions with the DGAC civil aviation authority, a strike has been announced for September 15th, and other labor unions have been invited to take part.

From September 8th to October 28th, the Rugby World Cup is taking place, with the last game being held at the Stade de France stadium in Saint Denis, Paris.

New Zealand and Namibia are set to play against each other on September 15th in Toulouse at 9:00 PM Central European Time.

GV De Clercq provided the report, which was then edited by Mike Harrison.
