Selena Gomez gave us the scoop on her delicious new glazed blush and her spring beauty era
Selena Gomez isn't ignoring spring-summer cosmetics. She recently shared information about her latest release, the Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Luminous Powder Blush, and it's fantastic. GLAMOUR had a chance to chat with Selena before its release on April 4th at Space NK. She talked about the blush, its inspirations, the ways she wears it, and her new "spring beauty era."
To start things off with the latest styles, the brand new release embraces the shiny, glowing blush look that is bound to rule over the fashion world in the seasons of spring and summer in the year of 2024. Essentially, it's a brightening makeup and blush mix that combines the most beneficial qualities of two of Selena's beloved products to create a remarkable formula.
Selena expressed her fondness for the lovely pigment in our liquid blushes and the lustrous appearance of our highlighters. This fascination acted as a motivation to introduce a glowing powder with the desirable pigment of the Soft Pinch Liquid Blush and shiny finish of the Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter. According to Selena, she is highly enthusiastic about this latest invention.
The latest addition to our team is available in six different colors: Cheer, which is a bright and warm shade of pink, Hope, a nude mauve color, Happy, a cool shade of pink, Joy, which is a soft peach color, Truth, a deep shade of maroon, and Love, which is a terracotta color. When applied to your cheeks, our new recruit gives you a beautiful and radiant glow that comes from within.

I gave the shade Happy a shot and it provided a lovely pinkish hue that gave my cheeks a pinch of color. It was super easy to blend and left my cheeks with a delicate sheen. You can go light-handed for a more subdued effect or add more layers for a bold look. However, Selena advises there's room for experimenting when creating a standout cheek appearance. "I really enjoy layering my radiant powder blush over my liquid blush. A combo I adore is Cheer powder blush on top of Hope liquid blush," she shares.
Regarding the usage of makeup, there is room to play around and try new things. However, Selena did reveal a particularly useful trick she learned from her beauty team. "My makeup artist taught me to apply blush higher up on my cheekbones to achieve a more elevated appearance - it's definitely one of my favourite tips," she reveals.
As the weather gets better, Selena has decided to simplify her spring beauty routine. She mentioned that she's opting for a colorful and glowing look. When she's not doing any filming, her go-to products are the Positive Light Tinted Moisturizer, Perfect Strokes Mascara, and Soft Pinch Luminous Powder Blush. It gives enough coverage for a complete spring look.
Selena opened up about her experience with Rare and how she views beauty. She confessed that she no longer tries to conceal her flaws or conform to societal beauty standards. Though it has been challenging to adapt to the public's constant scrutiny, Selena has learned to enjoy experimenting with makeup and trying different looks depending on her mood or the occasion without taking herself too seriously.
