Nigel Harman had to quit the show Strictly Come Dancing because he hurt his rib right before the quarter-finals.

The performer from Casualty, who is 50 years old, was supposed to participate in a dance competition on Saturday evening. He and his partner Katya Jones were going to do a Charleston routine to the song Step In Time from the Disney movie Mary Poppins.

With Harman's exit, there are now only four famous personalities left in the competition. These include the talented actress Ellie Leach, the skilled tennis player Annabel Croft, the renowned theatre and television star Layton Williams, as well as the famous actor Bobby Brazier from EastEnders.

A representative from the BBC expressed regret, conveying that Nigel is unable to participate in tonight's episode of Strictly due to an injury and has had to drop out.

A message was posted on the TV program's Instagram account expressing hopes for Harman's quick recuperation. The post also mentioned that the pair's absence would be deeply felt by everyone in the Strictly community.

The news outlet, BBC, validated that Harman encountered a rib wound despite early indications stating that the actor, formerly known for his role in EastEnders, had hurt his leg.

The television channel has not mentioned if someone will still be removed during tonight's broadcast. A representative from the BBC stated that it is a live event and the information about the arrangements will be announced on the program tonight.

On the previous Saturday, Harman exhibited his dance moves by performing the rumba on stage. The song that he chose for the occasion was "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" sung by Celine Dion. He was able to secure a total of 33 points for his impressive performance.

Anton Du Beke praised the performance as "super duper," but he criticized Harman for attempting to dance with Jones instead of allowing her to perform around him.

This year, there have been more than one celebrity who decided to call it quits on Strictly. Amanda Abbington, an actor, withdrew in October due to medical reasons. Later, she disclosed that her personal reasons were also a contributing factor for her departure.
