Melco Sets Date For Europe's First Resort

Melco Resorts & Entertainment is launching the first IR in Europe. The IR will be situated in Limassol, Cyprus. The launch date is 10 July.

Melco calls City of Dreams Mediterranean the first integrated resort in Europe. It has 500 rooms and a big casino that's 7,500 square meters.

There are eight restaurants and bars. There is a shopping promenade. It has the largest expo centre in Cyprus. There are various entertainment experiences available.

In Cyprus, there is a big resort pool complex. It's the biggest one there. There is a club for kids too. And an adventure park with a zip line and trampolines.

The City of Dreams Mediterranean's general manager, Grant Johnson, said that it's a major project and Melco's first in Europe. He added that the project will bring Melco's high standards of entertainment and innovation to the luxury hotel industry in Cyprus.

Greenspan Projects Ltd helped Melco with the IR in Cyprus. They are good at creative design and building.

Charlie Edwards, the commercial director at Greenspan, said that it was great to work with Melco. He said that Melco's passion for making this big project happen made the Greenspan team feel excited. He also mentioned that there was a good synergy between the two teams.

Melco Resorts & Entertainment opened a new indoor water park and hotel at Studio City IR in Macau. This happened earlier this year.

This water park is really big, with 10,000 square metres inside. You can have fun on 16 waterslides and attractions. If you are staying at Epic Tower, there are 338 suites for you to choose from.

Melco creates and runs big resorts in Asia and Europe. They have a resort in Macau called Altira Macau. They also have the City of Dreams IRs in Macau. Another resort owned by Melco is Studio City. In the Philippines, a company that belongs to Melco manages the resort City of Dreams Manila.

The Japanese government okayed the development plan of the Osaka IR with a cost of $13.5 billion.

The governor of Osaka wants to open the IR in 2029.
