Melco Unveils Public Launch For CoD Mediterranean In Cyprus On July 10

Melco Resorts and Entertainment Ltd is opening the City of Dreams Mediterranean casino resort in Cyprus. It will have a soft launch on June 12 for hotel and invited guests. It will open to the public on July 10. This is a big project for Melco Resorts and Entertainment Ltd.

A new property will be built in Limassol for beach resort. The property will have 500 guest rooms and suites. The casino in the property will be 7,500 square-metres. It will offer table games, slot machines, a poker area, and a "Platinum Club" for VIP gamblers. The statement confirmed this information.

The casino will have other things to do too. There will be a big space for events inside and outside. The ballroom can fit a lot of people. There will be places to have meetings. They will have an amphitheatre that looks like one from ancient Rome. There is also a pool area called Adventure Park. This place is good for children.

Last October, GGRAsia found out that the hotel-room booking engine for City of Dreams Mediterranean was already open. They were accepting reservations starting from June this year onward.

“This project is a big deal for us in Europe. We will bring our top-notch entertainment and luxury leisure services to the hotel industry in Cyprus,” stated Grant Johnson, the general manager of the property in a statement released on Friday.

Melco Resorts operates casino resorts in Macau and one in the Philippines. Their annual report for 2022 mentions a budget of $575 million to $600 million for City of Dreams Mediterranean.

Melco Resorts ran a temporary casino in Limassol while building its flagship casino in Cyprus. The temporary casino was called C2. According to its license, Melco Resorts also opened satellite casinos in Nicosia, Ayia Napa, and Paphos under the C2 branding.

Melco Resorts’ CEO, Lawrence Ho Yau Lung, said that the temporary and satellite casinos in Cyprus are popular. He said this during a call with analysts about the company’s Q1 2023 earnings.

On Wednesday, Mr Ho said they are happy to open City of Dreams Mediterranean in mid-June. They want to show off their skills with the first-ever integrated resort in the region.

The old president of Cyprus said City of Dreams Mediterranean would help the economy. People would visit more and there would be new jobs.
