BBC Cymru Wales to show all of Wales Women’s Euro 2025 Qualifiers

Euro qualifiers

The news that BBC Cymru Wales will broadcast every one of Wales' Euro 2025 matches as they attempt to qualify demonstrates our unwavering support for the country's female football squad.

The upcoming matches will be notable as it will be the debut of Rhian Wilkinson, a former Canadian national player, as Wales' head coach.

On Friday, April 5, Wales will begin their journey by welcoming Croatia to the oldest international stadium in the world - STōK Cae Ras in Wrexham. Catch all the excitement on Match of the Day Wales on BBC One Wales from 7 pm onwards (kick off will be at 7:15 pm) where presenter Catrin Heledd will be accompanied by former Wales players Nia Jones and Katie Sherwood in the studio.

Afterwards, the team will make their way to Kosovo to play their second game of the campaign within four days. Those who are interested can watch the game live from Podujevo on BBC Two Wales' Match of the Day Wales show starting at 12:45 pm, with the kick-off scheduled for 1 pm.

On Friday, May 31st, Ukraine will finish the qualifying group and will be hosted by Wales. Both the last game of the campaign, against Kosovo on July 16th, and the home games with Ukraine will be held at Parc y Scarlets in Llanelli. Wales had played there once before during the 2019 Women's World Cup Qualifiers.

BBC Cymru Wales Director Rhuanedd Richards has expressed excitement over the announcement that the broadcaster will be airing live coverage of all of Wales' Euro 2025 qualifying matches. Richards believes this display of commitment to the women's national football team is noteworthy and he can't wait for the campaign to begin in Wrexham. She looks forward to following new coach Rhian Wilkinson and the rest of the team as they attempt to qualify for the Euros.

Rhian Wilkinson has been appointed as the new coach for Wales, taking the reins from former coach Gemma Grainger, who vacated the position in January. Wilkinson had a prolific career, having played more than 180 games for Canada, while also winning two bronze Olympic medals in 2012 and 2016. Before moving to Wales, she was the head coach for Portland Thorns, where she successfully guided the team to winning the 2022 championship.

Furthermore, BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio Cymru will provide a comprehensive commentary, while BBC Sport online and Cymru Fyw will offer extended coverage.
