Ferrari's Maranello EV Plant Ready 2024

Chief Executive Officer

Ferrari's electric car factory in Maranello will open by mid-June 2024.

Ferrari is going electric in the industry. They are known for producing sports cars with combustion engines, but they are making the shift. This is a big change for the company.

Ferrari is still progressing in Maranello. The CEO, Benedetto Vigna, announced that the new EV plant being built there is coming along nicely. It should be done by June 2024 if things keep moving at this pace.

Ferrari wants to be carbon neutral by 2030. The new factory is important to do this. They will make pieces for hybrid and electric cars there. Ferrari will make its own motors still.

Some say the brand's first electric car will be an SUV. This will help the company reach more customers, like with the Purosangue. The new factory will be up and running by summer 2024. But the electric SUV won't come out until late 2025. Series production will start in 2026.

Ferrari wants parts for electric cars. They already have 296 GTB and SF90 Stradale hybrids. They might add more electric cars. 60% of sales in 2026 will be hybrids or all-electric. By 2030, they want 80% of sales to be hybrids or electric cars. Half of those will be hybrids, and half will be all-electric.

We will see more Ferraris with hybrid power soon. They will come out in the next few months and years.

Ferrari will keep some internal combustion vehicles. It's unclear what they have planned. Government rules in Europe may make it hard to sell only gas cars. So, Ferrari might have to adjust.
