Polygon Labs Shakeup: President Ryan Wyatt Out, Marc Boiron Named CEO

Chief Executive Officer

Ryan Wyatt, the head honcho of Polygon Labs, has made it known that he will be bidding adieu to his role by the month's end. Taking his place will be Marc Boiron, the Chief Legal Officer of the aforementioned project.

In February 2022, Wyatt, who has a background in the gaming and esports industry, assumed the role of CEO at Polygon Studios. He subsequently shifted to become the president of the recently renamed Polygon Labs.

With him in charge, Polygon received the prestigious title of "Decrypt's 2022 Project of the Year." Overcoming the challenges caused by the downfall of Terra and FTX, the network succeeded in attracting renowned names like Reddit, Starbucks, and Instagram.

After stepping down as an advisor, Wyatt will now assume the role of a consultant. In his stead, Marc Boiron, a highly experienced individual in the field of Web3, will be assuming the vacant position. Prior to joining Polygon, Boiron held a prominent position heading the legal division at dYdX Trading. Additionally, he provided valuable guidance to Compound Labs and Uniswap Labs.

Boiron expressed on Twitter this morning: "We feel honored to assist the community and our organization as we step into the new era of Polygon 2.0!"

As a result, Rebecca Rettig, who previously served as the acting chief policy officer at Polygon Labs for the past seven months, will now take on the position of chief legal officer, which was left vacant by Marc. Her significant contribution to the successful launch of The Value Prop played a key role in her appointment.

Before, she held the position of CL/PO at Aave Labs, and also had a short period of time on the board of the now-closed Silvergate Bank. Rettig has been a law partner with Boiron for a long time, expressing her extreme excitement to work with Marc in this role on Twitter today.

According to a tweet by Sandeep Nailwal, the co-founder and current executive chairman of Polygon Labs, Marc is a well-respected expert and pioneer in web3 with a profound knowledge of Web3 technology. He has provided guidance to prominent cryptocurrency funds in the industry and has played a significant role in the success of various DeFi protocols.

In late June of this year, the company introduced their Polygon 2.0 strategies, aiming to establish themselves as the "affordability platform of the internet."

MATIC, the token that belongs to Polygon, appeared to be unaffected by the announcement regarding the shift in management. At the moment of this writing, its value stands at $0.67, indicating a modest increase of 0.8% compared to the previous day.
