Allwyn UK Names New CEO as Chvátal Returns to Usual Duties
The company has made an announcement regarding the appointment of a new CEO to lead its UK business. Robert Chvátal, who has been serving as the interim UK CEO, will now step down from this position and resume his regular duties as the group's CEO.
Chvátal will be replaced by the well-versed Andria Vidler, who will begin her duties on October 1st. In her fresh role, she will be accountable for Allwyn's forthcoming acquisition of the United Kingdom's National Lottery. The Czech company is scheduled to take on the responsibilities of Britain's biggest lottery in February 2024.
Prior to her role as the CEO of Allwyn UK, Vidler held the position of chief executive officer for the EMEA region at Tag Worldwide. Before that, she served as the CEO of Centaur Media.
Allwyn, the operator of the National Lottery, will have the task of generating additional funds for charitable purposes, just like its forerunner Camelot.
Initially, Camelot, the current holder of the National Lottery, was against the UKGC's choice of Allwyn as its replacement. After several months of disagreement, in which CEO Chvátal courageously faced the opposition, Camelot ultimately accepted defeat, giving the green light to the regulator to appoint Allwyn as the future National Lottery operator.
Allwyn ultimately obtained ownership of Camelot, putting an end to the long-standing conflicts between the two companies.
