The famous actress, Brenda Blethyn, has announced that she will be departing from the hit TV series Vera, which has been running for 14 seasons on ITV.

Blethyn, who is currently 78 years old, will be shooting her final scenes as the detective chief inspector known for her frankness during the upcoming summer months. This will also serve as the last season for the show.

She expressed that the experience of working on Vera was delightful throughout the entire process.

I feel melancholy bidding farewell, yet I am incredibly content with what we have accomplished throughout these past 14 years," she expressed, commending the exceptional cast and crew.

Although I am saddened by their departure, the remarkable proficiency, harmony, amusement, and benevolence we experienced together will stay with me forever, including the bond we created with the individuals of the North East and our enthusiasts across the globe.

"I am deeply grateful for your kind gesture."

The female performer is going to record a duo of 2-hour installments for the 14th and ultimate season.

The performer also stated that she will always appreciate Ann Cleeves for inventing Vera and Elaine Collins for selecting her for the part.

The well-liked TV series is founded on the Vera Stanhope books penned by Cleeves. Her writing has also been turned into TV programs like Shetland and The Long Call.

Silverprint Pictures' creative director, Kate Bartlett, has served as an executive producer on numerous series since the program's inception.

She expressed that it was the conclusion of a significant period and a remarkable expedition spanning across 14 outstanding series of Vera.

Many skilled individuals participated in the production of Vera throughout the different seasons. Yet, there are two remarkable women that we owe a significant gratitude to. Firstly, the outstanding abilities of the one and only Brenda Blethyn.

As DCI Vera Stanhope, she displays incredible brilliance and has become an iconic figure of our era. The remarkable Ann Cleeves, writer of the source material, also deserves recognition.

It will be an emotional moment for us to bid farewell to Brenda and the entire team who contributed to the production of the show.

Blethyn is a well-respected actress who has successfully worked in both film and theater. Her performance in the 1996 comedy drama Secrets & Lies earned her an Oscar nomination, as well as a Bafta and Golden Globe award.

The movie Little Voice made her a nominee for both the Oscars and Bafta in 1999.

The performer was also nominated for Bafta awards for her roles in the family-oriented drama "Belonging" in 2004, and the period piece "Pride and Prejudice" in 2005.
