At the close of the initial half, Mustapha Bundu and Morgan Whittaker scored in a brief period of four minutes leading to Argyle taking the lead 2-0. In the 70th minute, Ryan Hardie, who came into the game as a substitute, added an extra goal giving Argyle a comfortable lead.

Wednesday, who have yet to win a game, have been defeated in 10 of their first 13 league matches. The newly-appointed coach Danny Rohl has experienced two consecutive losses.

Whittaker almost scored for Argyle, but his beautiful shot from outside the box on the right hand side hit the post instead of going in, even though keeper Cameron Dawson tried to stop it by diving.

On Wednesday, they played well and had the opportunity to score when Josh Windass made a superb pass to Anthony Musaba, who ran down the right wing. However, they were not able to convert that chance into a goal, which was in the 27th minute.

Musaba sprinted towards the Argyle penalty zone and delivered a powerful pass through the six-yard box. However, none of the Wednesday attackers were able to score a goal.

In the 31st minute of the game, Musaba made another crossing from the right-hand side of the field. This time, the ball was met by Lee Gregory, the striker of the team. Gregory struck the ball first time, but unfortunately, it flew over the goal post. Windass also made an attempt with a 25-yard free-kick, but the fit-again keeper Michael Cooper saved the shot with ease by catching it on his midriff.

Argyle responded when Bundu passed to Whittaker who was all alone to score. However, before Whittaker could take his shot, he was fouled by Iorfa just outside the penalty box. Bundu stepped up to take the free-kick and shot a rocket that flew into the top corner of the net, hitting the underside of the crossbar and leaving Dawson with no chance to save it. The goal was scored just before half-time, in the 44th minute.

After four minutes, Whittaker scored another goal for Argyle by quickly seizing the opportunity presented by Wednesday's defender Pol Valentin's back pass. He then cleverly moved forward and placed the ball past Dawson who was left helpless in his stranded position.

Argyle began the second half just like they had ended the first, being proactive and taking initiative. Kaine Kesler-Hayden assisted Finn Azaz, whose shot while on the run was saved skillfully by Dawson, in the 53rd minute.

The ball was passed to Whittaker from the corner and he made a shot from outside the box that narrowly missed going in.

Cooper made an excellent save from Windass, who shot from the left side of the penalty area. Barry Bannan, who is a central player for Wednesday's midfield, gave an outstanding pass to Windass.

Argyle began to feel more sure of themselves, and that's when Azaz took a shot from far away. He hit the ball just as it was bouncing up, causing Dawson to make a great save.

Dawson prevented Azaz from scoring once more in the 67th minute when Azaz attempted to put the ball past him. Dawson made a remarkable save by diving to his left and using one hand to stop the shot from going in.

The Argyle team gained a bigger lead by using a quick attack strategy. Azaz attracted opponents towards him and then passed the ball to Hardie. Hardie then successfully scored a goal by hitting the ball with his foot from a short distance inside the penalty area, without taking a pause after receiving the pass. This happened at the 76th minute of the game.
