Ncuti Gatwa has spoken out about Millie Gibson's alleged exit from Doctor Who following her appearance in only one season.

A young actress who starred in the popular TV show Coronation Street, age 19, made her eagerly awaited first appearance as Ruby Sunday, the companion of the Fifteenth Doctor, in the Christmas special of 2023.

The popular science fiction TV series will be coming back on screens in May 2024 to air eight episodes. Ncuti Gatwa has been announced as the new actor to play the Time Lord character.

The showrunner of the series is Russell T Davies, and reportedly, the character Ruby played by Millie has already been removed. It has been reported that Varada Sethu will take her place for Ncuti's second series.

When the information was made known, Ncuti went to his Instagram Stories and uploaded a photograph with Millie while penning: 'My little [heart emoji].'

Several other characters have remained on the program for quite some time, such as Clara Oswald portrayed by Jenna Coleman, Rose Tyler played by Billie Piper, and Amy Pond acted by Karen Gillan.

Up until now, Millie has not made any statements regarding the rumors of her departure from the program. However, on Friday, she posted a video on her Instagram Stories while driving away from Puerto Viejo in Costa Rica.
