On Tuesday, the French government announced that security measures will be significantly increased in Paris for an important Champions League soccer game due to a potential danger by the Islamic State organization.

According to reports, the terrorist group has made threats against the quarterfinal matches of UEFA's premier tournament this week. One of the games in question will take place in France, where Paris Saint-Germain is set to face off against Barcelona on Wednesday evening.

Earlier this morning, I had a conversation with the police chief who has now taken significant measures to boost the security resources," stated Gérald Darmanin, the Interior Minister of France during a press conference on Tuesday.

A few days ago, a communication platform associated with ISIS published a menacing graphic indicating the four stadiums that will be hosting an event, along with a caption that states “Eliminate them all.”

The poster encouraged the host countries' governments to step up their security measures.

On Tuesday, the Spanish interior ministry instructed to enhance security measures in the locations where the matches are scheduled to take place, as reported by the Spanish publication El País.

There are going to be two football matches in Madrid this week that determine who will make it to the semifinals. Real Madrid will play against Manchester City on Tuesday, and Atlético Madrid will compete against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday. On the same day, Arsenal will host Bayern Munich in London for the fourth fixture.

UEFA, the organization that governs European football, declared that the matches will proceed on schedule.

UEFA has been notified of possible terrorist threats targeting the upcoming UEFA Champions League matches and is in close communication with the relevant authorities at each location. Despite this, all matches will proceed according to schedule under the supervision of adequate security measures.
