Queen Margrethe II is the current queen of Denmark. She was born on April 16th, 1940 in Copenhagen, Denmark. She ascended to the throne in 1972 after the death of her father, King Frederick IX. She is the first female monarch in Denmark since Margaret I, who ruled from 1353 to 1412. Queen Margrethe is known for her artistic talents, specifically in painting and set design for theatre productions. She is also fluent in several languages, including Danish, French, English, and German.
