Sheff Wed appoint 34-year-old Rohl as manager

Danny Rohl

Dany Rohl resigned from his position as an assistant for Germany after the dismissal of Hansi Flick in September.

The football club Sheffield Wednesday has chosen Danny Rohl, who used to be an assistant coach for the German national team, as their new manager.

Munoz's tenure as manager didn't yield any victory in the 10 assigned Championship games, leading to the Owls currently being seven points behind what is considered a safe position in the competition.

Before joining the team at his current position, Rohl served as a member of the staff at RB Leipzig, Southampton, and Bayern Munich.

The German has taken on his first job leading a football team and as a result has become the youngest manager in the English Football League.

He stated that he plans to bring in four coaches from Germany, as well as hiring a knowledgeable British coach to join his team.

The coach's debut match with Wednesday is scheduled against the team that is also facing challenges, Watford, on the 21st of October.

During a press conference, he mentioned working as an assistant with prominent coaches like Ralf Rangnick, Ralph Hassenhuttl, and Hansi Flick. He implied that he learned something valuable from each of them, and now, as a manager, he has the opportunity to make decisions on the field.

I believe that all the experiences I've had will be beneficial as I take on the role of a manager for the first time.

For the past decade, I have been getting ready for this circumstance and now my aspirations have finally materialized. I hold a well-defined set of principles and beliefs which have brought me to where I stand today.

Munoz, who followed Rohl as the club's head, began his role in July after Darren Moore left the team by mutual agreement, even after having led them to promotional success in League One during the prior season.

The coach from Spain managed to score only two points from his 10 games in the league and was fired before the recent match, where Moore's new team Huddersfield drew 0-0.

Wednesday currently have a chance of being the second team in the Championship's history to evade demotion by obtaining three points or less in their first eleven games, following Bolton's success in 2017-2018.

Challenging Career Analysis

Rob Staton is the person in charge of sports management at BBC Radio Sheffield.

Danny Rohl came across as very impressive during his first appearance as a manager. He spoke positively about his new role and demonstrated that his past experiences working with some of the biggest names in football management have prepared him well for this opportunity. With an impressive track record and excellent communication skills, it is likely that fans will quickly take a liking to him.

However, he has chosen to begin his career in one of the most challenging occupations in England.

The Wednesday club is currently struggling with internal problems. Some supporters are unhappy with the chairman because of the expensive ticket prices and a huge setback caused by his own mistakes which ruined the team's progress after moving up a division.

It will be a very difficult task to ensure that this team stays in the second division, given that they have played 10 games without securing any victory under Xisco's management in the Championship.
