European football: Real Madrid clinch La Liga title after Barcelona are beaten

Barcelona

Real Madrid has secured the title of Spain’s champion for the 36th time! They achieved this after emerging victorious with a score of 3-0 against Cádiz. This was followed by a 2-4 loss for Barcelona at Girona, proving that Carlo Ancelotti’s team is firmly positioned at the top of La Liga and that no other team can take over their lead.

Madrid made a hassle-free victory over Cádiz with three goals scored by Brahim Díaz, Jude Bellingham, and Joselu. This win positioned them at a comfortable spot with a total of 87 points, leading the second-placed Barcelona by a margin of 14, and third-placed Girona by a clear margin of 16 points. This puts them in a good position with four more games remaining.

The head coach of Real, Ancelotti, gave some important players a break before their upcoming Champions League semi-final match against Bayern Munich. Despite this, his team played well enough to win and earned three points.

They were in control for the majority of the first half, but it wasn't until the 51st minute that they were able to score. Díaz took a beautiful shot from the edge of the box that found the back of the net. Later in the game, Bellingham came in as a substitute and scored after being set up by Díaz with a nice finish. Joselu finished off the game by tapping the ball into an empty net during a counterattack in added time.

Bayern Munich experienced a defeat of 3-1 against Stuttgart and one of their players, Raphaël Guerreiro, got hurt during the match. This took place in their final game of the Bundesliga league right before they head to Madrid to play against Real Madrid in their semi-final second leg in the Champions League. Unfortunately, Guerreiro had to leave the game early due to an injury that seemed to affect his muscles, making his appearance uncertain for the crucial match on Wednesday in Madrid.

Borussia Dortmund's second-string team prepared for their semi-final match against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday by crushing Augsburg 5-1 at home.

In his initial game since the confirmation of his departure from his hometown club, Marco Reus, a veteran player of Dortmund, scored a goal and provided an assist for another goal. He has been playing for the club for 12 years now.

Edin Terzic, the coach for Dortmund, chose to switch things up by making 10 alterations to the team that defeated PSG 1-0 last Wednesday. The only player who maintained their spot on the field was the goalkeeper, Gregor Kobel.

Thomas Tuchel, who coaches the opposing team of Bayern, decided to switch up his starting players after their previous match against Madrid in Munich. He swapped out Noussair Mazraoui, Konrad Laimer, Leon Goretzka, Thomas Müller and Leroy Sané for Guerreiro, Alphonso Davies, Aleksandar Pavlović, Serge Gnabry, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Mathys Tel. Jamal Musiala was not included in the squad.

However, his plans took a setback when Guerreiro was forced to leave the game due to an injury in the 17th minute. Stuttgart's Leonidas Stergiou, who plays defense, scored the first goal in the 29th after passing the ball back and forth with Deniz Undav. This was the first time the young Swiss defender, who is just 22 years old, had scored a goal in the Bundesliga.

Harry Kane managed to score a goal in the 37th minute thanks to a controversial penalty decision. Despite the fact that Waldemar Anton barely touched Serge Gnabry, causing him to fall and hold his face, a goal was still awarded. Harry Kane didn't allow the controversy to affect him and was able to maintain his impressive record of scoring 44 goals in 44 games for Bayern this season.

In the 83rd minute of the game, Jeong Woo-yeong managed to score Stuttgart's second goal by working together with Silas Katompa Mvumpa, who was also a substitute. Silas then sealed the victory for the team in stoppage time. This success means that Stuttgart is now only two points behind Bayern who is in second place, with just two rounds left to play. It is important to note that both teams have already secured their place in the Champions League.

At their home stadium, Wolfsburg managed to score three goals against Darmstadt who had already been relegated. Werder Bremen, on the other hand, couldn't secure a victory and only managed to draw 2-2 with Borussia Mönchengladbach.
