CoppaFeel! breast cancer charity founder Kris Hallenga dies aged 38

Kris Hallenga, the person who started the organization called CoppaFeel!, which promotes the significance of young females examining their breasts for initial indications of cancer, has passed away at the age of 38. She was previously diagnosed with this illness 15 years ago.

When she was just 23 years old, the activist found out that she had stage 4 cancer that had spread to her spine. She hails from Cornwall.

One lady launched CoppaFeel! in an open area during a festival. This led to it becoming a significant non-profit organization dedicated to cancer awareness. The charity has inspired numerous young females to examine their breasts using various checking instruments. Their message was so influential that it was displayed on the front of the Houses of Parliament, and they even promoted the first ever advertisement billboard with a nipple exposed.

During a conversation with The Guardian in 2021, Hallenga expressed that her diagnosis left her feeling disoriented and perplexed. This is what drove her to take action.

As she reflected, she thought to herself, "This is absurd. Why didn't anyone inform me to examine my breasts for any anomalies? Why was I unaware that it was possible to contract breast cancer at such a young age of 23? I'm convinced that my acquaintances are oblivious too, and if that's the case, then it's evident that not a single young individual in this nation is privy to this enigmatic information. This paradigm must transform." Upon concluding these thoughts, she felt an overwhelming sense of motivation.

Hallenga and her identical twin sibling, Maren, witnessed the growth of the organisation to become the third most distinguished charitable organisation for cancer in the United Kingdom. They were amazed that the charity was "in reality, rescuing lives," as Hallenga put it in her interview.

Hallenga was recognized with a Pride of Britain prize for her advocacy work. Cancer Research UK submitted her name for nomination. She relinquished her role as head of CoppaFeel! in 2017. This was to relocate to Cornwall and invest more energy with her sister. Moreover, she also needed to write her life story, titled "Glittering a Turd".

CoppaFeel!, an organization dedicated to raising breast cancer awareness, recently announced the passing of their beloved founder, Kris. Known as the “boob chief,” Kris was a dear colleague, friend, and a true icon. She always encouraged everyone to embrace life and make the most of it, no matter what. Her approach to life was full of creativity, fun, and fearlessness, serving as an inspiration to others. Kris was a shining example of how one can live life to the fullest even while battling cancer. She will be deeply missed.

Kris, being just 23 years old, was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer back in the year 2009. She had visited her GP multiple times in over a year, but was turned away each time. Unfortunately, when she was finally diagnosed, it was too late and the condition was terminal. Kris was motivated to prevent anyone else from facing the same situation and thus established CoppaFeel!. The aim of the organization is to ensure that breast cancers are detected early and accurately.

Kris has spread her message about health awareness and motivation to a large audience, achieving the inclusion of cancer education in school programs. She was acknowledged for her efforts with the outstanding young campaigner award for women of the year, and also received an honorary doctorate in public administration from Nottingham Trent University. To add to her accolades, Kris wrote a book called Glittering a Turd, which became a bestseller in The Times.

Kris had a strong vision for her life - to eliminate the need for CoppaFeel! by eradicating late diagnosis of breast cancer during her lifetime. We're determined to carry on Kris' legacy by giving everyone the chance to live a fulfilling and healthy life. You can contribute to this mission by making a donation at our website.

Kris had been dealing with secondary breast cancer for a period of 15 years. She did not believe in the concept of winning or losing battles, and she would not prefer others to perceive her passing as a sad event. Kris was just living her life as a 38 year old woman, and she passed away content and showered her love upon those around her.

Don't forget the incredible life Kris lived and what she accomplished. However, the most important thing is to pay tribute to her by examining your chest... doing so could potentially prevent a life-threatening situation.
