Billy Vunipola tasered and arrested after assaulting police officer in Spanish bar

Police officers in Majorca used a taser on Billy Vunipola when he was being arrested at a bar. They suspected him of disobeying and attacking one of the officers.

According to reports, a situation occurred at a bar named Epic in Palma, where Vunipola seemed distressed and intoxicated. He removed his shirt and started to menace the patrons and staff with bottles and chairs. Finally, he confronted the police officers, pushing and hitting one of them.

Vunipola, who stands at 6 feet and 2 inches tall and weighs over 20 stone, needed another electric shock from a taser in order for eight police officers to handcuff him on Sunday morning at approximately 4:30am. Following this, Vunipola was brought to Son Espases Hospital, where he was allegedly sedated and restrained to his bed with hospital security as well as police officers keeping watch.

The blog post stated that a video clip revealed that a rugby player from England and Saracens team, who was wearing a dark blue shirt and light brown shorts, was escorted by four officers from a police vehicle to the Vía Alemán courts in Palma. It is believed that he has been granted bail while the authorities conduct an inquiry.

Vunipola went to Majorca as part of a team bonding session with his fellow players and coaches. This was because Saracens don't have any European semi-final games this upcoming weekend. Vunipola wasn't a starter but came on as a replacement to help Saracens win against Bath on Friday night.

It is believed that the team will return to the United Kingdom by air on Monday.

The National Police in Majorca spokesperson did not mention Vunipola by name but stated that they apprehended a foreign man at 4:30AM on Sunday morning. This individual, who is 31 years of age, is being held on suspicion of disobeying authorities and attacking a police officer.

The incident happened at a relaxing venue along the seaside in Palma, where a male individual was causing disturbances within the establishment.

The guy refused to be rational and faced off against the other patrons, but the security personnel were ineffective in controlling or expelling him from the building.

The authorities were informed of the situation and once they arrived at the scene, they noticed a man without his shirt on and making hand movements. They quickly evacuated the area. However, the man challenged the police and tried to attack them.

The police attempted to soothe the agitated man, but he was unresponsive to their efforts. He became violent and assaulted one of the officers by shoving and hitting them. One of the policemen then drew an electric stun gun and attempted to use it, but it failed to fire.

After the first attempt missed its target, a second object was launched and successfully hit the person. This prompted the officers to swiftly restrain and handcuff him. He was subsequently taken to Son Espases hospital for evaluation and detention.

On Sunday, he went to court and was granted bail while the investigation continues. To protect his privacy, we cannot reveal the name of the accused.

Vunipola, who is now aged 31, was born to parents from Tonga in Australia. During his childhood, he relocated to Wales and was granted a scholarship to study at Harrow School. After beginning his professional journey with Wasps, he later transferred his skills to play with the Saracens.

He played his final game for the England rugby team in the Rugby World Cup semi-final against South Africa last year. However, Steve Borthwick did not choose him to be a part of the team for this year's Six Nations.

It is highly anticipated that Vunipola will depart from Saracens and set his sights on Montpellier for the upcoming season. Unfortunately, this decision marks the conclusion of any possibility for him to rejoin the national squad, as players currently residing outside of England are not qualified for the international team.

Saracens issued a statement acknowledging an incident relating to Billy Vunipola while he was in Majorca. The team plans to handle the matter internally and will not provide additional information until a resolution has been reached.

"Vunipola's Alcohol Battles And Career Uncertainties"

Billy Vunipola is commendable for his willingness to speak candidly about his personal struggles. Over the course of his impressive career, he has been transparent about his struggles with alcohol and mental health. Despite facing a slew of injuries, he has managed to become one of the most talented No. 8s worldwide. All of this was achieved by him making his first international appearance for England at the tender age of 20.

The most recent event in Majorca is definitely the most severe one yet. This is because not only did he get arrested for the first time in a foreign country, but it also happened during a crucial time in his career. He's 31 years old and is about to leave the club that he's been a part of for more than ten years - Saracens. At the same time, it appears as though his time playing for England is over.

Vunipola had to wait for 15 months to play in a Test match again after being left out by Eddie Jones after the 2021 Six Nations. However, he managed to make a comeback for the 2022 tour to Australia after impressing with his performances for Saracens. In between his absence from Test matches, he had regular sessions with a therapist for a period of seven months.

He shared with World Rugby last year that experiencing knee surgeries and suffering from three fractured forearms made him realize that he wasn't invincible. He admitted that it took a long time for him to come to this realization.

I had the perception that God dismantled me as a result of my excessive pride and belief in my abilities without seeking reliance on Him. Unfortunately, I lacked sufficient faith in Him. I yearned for a challenge that would alleviate my inflated sense of self-importance.

A lot of individuals experience a significant change in their abilities after a major injury. But now, I feel like I've returned to my previous level of performance. The next step is to trust my instincts and have confidence in myself. However, it can be difficult to find the right balance between self-assurance and conceit. Perhaps in the past, I leaned too much towards being overly confident.

Vunipola expressed how valuable Calum Clark is to their club. Clark used to be a Saracens player and now serves as a performance psychologist.

Last year, Vunipola made an appearance on a podcast alongside his former Saracens team-mate, Jim Hamilton. During the episode, Vunipola shared that he began drinking alcohol when he turned 25 years of age, after undergoing his initial knee surgery.

He expressed that he had never consumed alcohol throughout his lifetime until he endured a significant injury. After this event, he contemplated starting to drink. This occurred around the time when he ended his relationship with his current wife. He was undergoing a strange time where he yearned to relive his youth and experience what he missed out on as a 20-year-old. Although it may sound trivial, he never had the opportunity to indulge in those experiences.

As soon as I finished my studies, I started playing for the Wasps rugby team. We were on the verge of being demoted at the time. Despite being just 17 years old, I debuted in the Premier League, which meant I never had the chance to fully enjoy my youth. At the age of 25, I took a break and went back to just being a regular guy. It might sound like I wasn't appreciative, but it was during this period that I suffered an injury that impacted my rugby career for the worse. The cause of this injury was, in essence, due to my behavior during a ten-month-long period of widespread partying before I eventually returned to my wife.

During the 2019 Six Nations, he expressed regret to his fellow England team members for his actions. He was tardy in returning to the team's designated lodging in Chiswick and disregarded the rules, after engaging in a night of revelry with ex-England centre Ben Te'o, in which an excessive amount of alcohol was consumed.

Just after Vunipola shared with The Times in November 2018 that he had quit drinking, his family, which included his brother Mako, who plays as prop for Saracens and England, had a grave conversation with him during the summer. The incident occurred not long after this conversation happened.

"At one point, my mother, father, and brother gave me a stern talk, and I decided to take their advice. I have ceased consuming alcohol," he declared during that time.

Back in 2017, after England won the Six Nations championship, a scruffy-looking Vunipola was seen leaving a Dublin hotel at 4:30 in the morning with the help of one of England’s security team members. The photo received mostly favorable feedback then, because England's players needed to relax after winning their second consecutive Six Nations title.

In 2019, Vunipola shared his thoughts about that incident, stating that he couldn't remember much about it. However, he was determined to never let himself get into that situation again.

I gained a new understanding from that situation, as it was a chance to learn and grow. I only came to the realization the following day. It was a difficult experience for me, but I'm determined not to repeat it with my loved ones. It's important to have emotional self-regulation, which I lacked at the time.

"I suppose I mentioned that I don't drink alcohol, but I have to take responsibility for that statement. It may be amusing to talk about now, but it wasn't a humorous situation when it originally occurred."

Seven years have passed and a recent incident that occurred early in the morning has raised concerns for Vunipola's future. The priority is his personal safety, and there may be legal consequences in Spain. Additionally, his career is at a critical point. He is no longer a guaranteed starter at Saracens due to the emergence of Ben Earl and Tom Willis, and he may soon be leaving the team that supported him in becoming a top-tier player to join a new team in a new country. Playing for England again may also seem like an unlikely possibility.

Honestly, the current information is alarming.
