The vaccination, named Vaxzevria, was created in collaboration with the University of Oxford and has become a prominent Covid-19 vaccine across the globe. Over 3 billion doses have been given out since the initial dose was administered in the United Kingdom on January 4th, 2021.

According to the company's statement, AstraZeneca has not earned any income from the vaccine since April of 2023.

According to a statement shared with CNN on Wednesday, the production and supply of Vaxzevria, which is one of the Covid-19 vaccines, has been discontinued due to an abundance of alternative vaccines. As a result, there has been a decrease in demand for Vaxzevria.

As a result, AstraZeneca has chosen to start the process of removing the licenses to market Vaxzevria in Europe.

The European Medicines Agency has announced on their website that the marketing and sale of Vaxzevria is not permitted in European Union countries any longer. Therefore, it has been withdrawn.

AstraZeneca plans to collaborate with regulatory bodies in various nations to establish a definite plan of action. This may involve pulling out the vaccine from the market in regions where there is no expected demand.

AstraZeneca expressed immense satisfaction with the contribution of their vaccine, Vaxzevria, in the fight against COVID-19. The company has been commended by various governments worldwide and their vaccine is considered an essential element in bringing an end to the global crisis.

This is an ongoing narrative and will be kept up-to-date.
