Thousands report problems using Twitter

On Saturday night, numerous Twitter users globally encountered problems while using the platform, as indicated by Downdetector, a website that tracks service interruptions.

According to the website, Twitter encountered over 7,000 instances of individuals reporting problems in the United States, while more than 5,000 grievances were reported from the United Kingdom.

People from various countries like India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Turkey, and Germany also encountered difficulties with Twitter, according to reports from users residing there.

The employees at Dawn.com were faced with an error message stating that they had exceeded the limit for usage on both the app and the website. As a result, no tweets were visible on their feed.

The specific reasons behind the issues were not immediately apparent. Twitter Inc has yet to provide any direct statements regarding the issue.

Nevertheless, following the emergence of user grievances today, the proprietor of the company, Elon Musk, stated in a message on the popular social networking site that Twitter had implemented temporary restrictions on reading to combat the rampant data extraction and manipulative actions that have reached exceptional heights.

According to Musk, accounts that have been verified will only be able to read up to 6,000 posts per day for now. Additionally, unverified accounts and newly created unverified accounts will have limitations, allowing them to read 600 and 300 posts per day, respectively.

However, the content he shared neglected to include any grievances or concerns expressed by users on the present day.

Furthermore, Twitter has revealed its plan to mandate users to possess an account on the social networking site in order to access tweets. Musk referred to this step as a "transitory emergency action."

In the past, there was a Twitter service disruption in May, where Downdetector recorded over 3,600 cases of individuals facing difficulties with the popular online networking site.

In March, numerous Twitter users faced difficulties when trying to open links on the social media platform and other websites. According to Downdetector, over 8,000 incidents were filed by individuals experiencing these troubles.

Following the resolution of the issue, Musk sent out a tweet explaining that a minor adjustment to Twitter's data-access tool was responsible for the problem. He expressed dissatisfaction with the fragility of the code stack, stating that it lacked valid justification and ultimately required a complete overhaul.
