A wildfire is currently burning in close proximity to one of Australia's most renowned beaches, causing smoke clouds to congest the sky.

The fire that is not being controlled has already consumed 140 hectares of terrain located alongside the North Belongil beach situated in Byron Bay. The blaze is also affecting nearby residential streets as it spreads.

The firefighters are now in the second day of their attempt to put out the fire that has erupted around 5 kilometers in the northwest direction of Byron Bay. The fire is located between three areas: Bayshore Drive, Black Rock Road, and Ewingsdale Road.
