Venables led England to an unforgettable journey in Euro 96 semis, thanks to his successful stints as a manager with Crystal Palace, QPR, Barcelona, and Tottenham.

As a player, he took part in more than 500 matches for Chelsea, Tottenham, QPR, and Crystal Palace.

Venables had abilities beyond football. He collaborated in writing mystery books while he was an active player, these books later adapted to a television show called Hazell that revolved around a quick-witted investigator from London. Hazell had a run of twenty-two episodes aired between 1978 and 1979.
