Sydney

The eatery is linked to the Premier Inn on Marcham Road, while another Premier Inn is currently under construction on the adjacent street, close to the Tesco Extra store.

Whitbread, the owner of the hotel franchise, announced that it was exploring various alternatives for the initial Premier Inn structure and the dining establishment.

When the Oxford Mail dropped by yesterday morning, the restaurant was closed and inaccessible.

According to the Beefeater's official website, regrettably, this eatery will be shutting down its operations by the end of August, precisely on the 31st.

A spokesperson for Premier Inn has stated that they are currently considering the future of their current Abingdon hotel and the Ock Mill restaurant, as they prepare to open their new hotel in the area.

The members of our team at the current hotel and restaurant are well-informed about this matter and have been actively involved throughout this procedure.

We have high hopes that most of them will move to our recently opened hotel and restaurant or to nearby Whitbread establishments.

A representative stated that the new hotel was now "truly beginning to form".

Our upcoming launch in Abingdon will introduce our newest deal, featuring our upgraded 'Premier Plus' accommodations. It will be a momentous occasion when we finally unveil our latest style hotel to our valued clientele.

There have been new establishments that have opened up in the Oxford region. These include the Premier Inn located in the city center at Westgate, which welcomed visitors in June 2021. Another Premier Inn was introduced in Botley in April 2021. Lastly, the Premier Inn at Oxford Airport in Kidlington began operations in January 2020.

The area adjacent to Tesco Extra was granted approval for constructing a Travelodge, but the creators later changed their plans and opted for Premier Inn instead.

According to Gary Poulton, a construction project and programme manager working for Whitbread, the company that owns Premier Inn, Hinton Group, our partners, are doing well in building the new 86-bedroom Premier Inn in Abingdon.

The establishment will introduce our most recent style of rooms and dining establishment to Abingdon in a convenient spot near the A34 and effortless entry into Oxford.

If everything goes according to plan, we anticipate being prepared to greet visitors at our hotel during the fall season. This will allow us to introduce a greater number of reasonably priced accommodations to the charming market town, while also solidifying our presence in the greater Oxford region.

Additionally, you can find a Hilton Garden Inn situated along Marcham Road.
