Ruben Amorim

Latest reports indicate that Liverpool is getting closer to securing the services of Ruben Amorim, as they have initiated communication with Sporting Lisbon and are considering bringing him to Anfield for the upcoming season.

Liverpool is on the lookout for a new manager to take over from Jurgen Klopp. Klopp has been at the helm for nine years and will be departing at the end of this season. The team's ultimate goal is to win the Premier League, Europa League, and Carabao Cup - a feat that Klopp already achieved when he led them to victory in the Carabao Cup in February.

Initially, Liverpool was interested in re-signing their ex-midfielder Xabi Alonso. He is currently doing an amazing job at Bayer Leverkusen by guiding them to an undefeated season in Bundesliga. Additionally, they are 16 points ahead of Bayern Munich and are on top of the table.

Nonetheless, Alonso rejected offers from both Liverpool and Bayern, choosing instead to commit to Leverkusen for the upcoming year. As a result, Amorim has emerged as a strong contender for the managerial position at Anfield.

As per information reported by O Jogo to CNN, Liverpool has communicated with the 39-year-old coach to consider the chance of him leading the team in the upcoming season.

According to reports, Liverpool have initiated communication with Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim.

The manager from Portugal has moved a bit nearer to becoming the new coach for the Reds. This comes after some controversy over a report that states he has agreed to take on the role.

According to the report, there haven't been any formal discussions between Liverpool and Sporting yet. However, Amorim knows that the Premier League team is interested in hiring him.

The blog said that the two clubs won't be discussing anything for now because Sporting wants to concentrate on winning the Portuguese league title. Sporting is currently leading with four points against its closest rival, Benfica. Additionally, Sporting still has one more game to play and there are only seven games left in the season.

Nonetheless, there is a report from Sky Germany that is in question stating that Liverpool and Amorim have already come to terms on a contract that spans three years.

According to O Jogo, Amorim desires to progress in his profession and would instantly consider an offer from one of the most prominent clubs globally.

His agreement ends in 2026 and contains a stipulation that allows him to terminate the contract for approximately £17m (€20m).

According to rumors, the 39-year-old is the most likely candidate to take over from the current manager Jurgen Klopp, who is leaving.

Liverpool is intensifying their hunt for a new player as Xabi Alonso, their first choice, is no longer available.

According to Mail Sport, Liverpool has refuted any connection to Amorim after stating last week that he was interested in a job in the Premier League and was actively searching for coaching roles in England for the upcoming season.

Amorim is a highly desirable coach in Europe and will have plenty of fans.

Chelsea have been interested in Amorim for a while, but they have decided not to pursue him this summer due to concerns over Mauricio Pochettino's future. Meanwhile, Manchester United could be on the hunt for a new manager because INEOS may not be fully committed to Erik ten Hag.

At this time, Barcelona is in search of a new manager because their previous manager Xavi has departed the Nou Camp. Additionally, Bayern Munich had expressed interest in hiring Alonso but are now searching for someone to replace their current manager, Thomas Tuchel.

When asked about the possibility of leaving Sporting, Amorim declined to make any promise about staying beyond this season.

The football world was left stunned when Klopp announced that he would be resigning as manager of Liverpool at the end of the season.

On Friday, when questioned if he would stay with his current company like Alonso, he answered with a clear "no" stating that he cannot promise such a commitment.

I prefer not to discuss my future excessively. However, I will not dispute or force Sporting to make any decisions, as I am grateful for everything the club has done for me.

Liverpool has been searching for a fresh manager for quite some time now since Klopp disclosed that he informed them about his intention to step down from his leadership in November.

In a shocking revelation made in January, Klopp stated that he was feeling drained after almost 10 years in the position and required some time off from the sport.

At the end of the season, he stated that he will be departing from the club. It could be startling for some people to hear it for the first time. However, he will endeavour to clarify and justify his decision.

I am feeling quite drained and tired lately. I knew for some time now that announcing this would be necessary, but I am perfectly fine at the moment. I am just aware that I am unable to continue repeating the same work over and over again.
