Phil Foden couldn't play in Manchester City's important game against Nottingham Forest because he was sick.

Foden has played a vital role for the current titleholders throughout the season, netting 16 goals and giving seven assists in the league.

Earlier this week, the football player from England scored twice during a match against Brighton and has been continuously performing well. His exceptional performance has made him a top candidate for winning the player of the year award.

Before the match, Pep Guardiola confirmed that the player is not prepared as he is feeling unwell.

Today, he is feeling uneasy and has returned to Manchester.

Foden and Ruben Dias were unable to play due to illness and both had to sit on the sidelines.

During the Brighton match in the middle of the week, Dias was a substitute and did not play.

Guardiola decided to switch things up a bit in light of Foden's absence by inserting Jack Grealish and Jeremy Doku into the starting team. Mateo Kovacic, on the other hand, was relegated to the bench.

Erling Haaland, who was absent due to injury in the previous two games, is back in the Man City squad. He can now be found sitting on the bench.

City are set to play an extremely important game at the City Ground as they strive to clinch their fourth Premier League championship in a row.

Guardiola's team enters the game with a four-point deficit to the leaders Arsenal, who defeated their North London rivals Tottenham in the early game.

Man City have two games in hand, and one of them is the away game against Nottingham Forest.

The Forest team is aiming for a win as they are only one point ahead of the relegation zone. It is crucial for them to secure three points in this match.
