Michael Douglas found out he’s related to Scarlett Johansson on ‘Finding Your Roots’

The TV show called "Finding Your Roots" has come across yet another famous person's ancestry.

During a recent episode of the PBS series, Michael Douglas made the interesting discovery that he shares DNA with actress Scarlett Johansson and they are actually "DNA cousins."

"You must be joking," responded Douglas in disbelief as host Henry Louis Gates Jr. disclosed the link between them. "Wow, I'm impressed. Nice one. This is really fascinating."

With the help of expert genealogists, it was discovered that Douglas and Johansson have "indistinguishable portions of DNA present on four separate chromosomes", all of which can be traced back to Scarlett's maternal lineage originating from Jewish communities in Eastern Europe.

Douglas continued, "Wow, that's amazing."

He said, "I am excited to meet Scarlett in the future."

Starting from 2012, the show named "Finding Your Roots" has discovered some amazing relationships. A particular episode revealed that Julia Roberts and Edward Norton shared genetic similarity, indicating they were cousins. Kerry Washington was given a significant revelation that her conception happened due to a sperm donor.

The TV program called "Finding Your Roots" hosted by Henry Louis Gates Jr. is broadcasted every Tuesday at 8 p.m. Eastern Time on PBS.
