Franklin, the latest period drama miniseries about America's founding fathers, is now available for streaming on Apple TV+. To catch up with the first episode and stay updated on the release of new episodes, learn how to access Franklin on Apple's streaming platform.

The creators of the show, Tim Van Patten and Kirk Ellis, who have won Emmy awards for their filmmaking work on shows such as Boardwalk Empire and The Pacific, have based their miniseries, called Franklin, on Stacy Schiff's novel "A Great Improvisation: Franklin, France, and the Birth of America." The plot revolves around the character Benjamin Franklin, played by Michael Douglas, who goes on a clandestine mission to France in December of 1776.

The synopsis of the show states that in 1776, Benjamin Franklin, well-known for his electrical experiments, is given a difficult task. The fate of American independence relies on his ability to succeed. He must embark on a secret mission to France where he faces challenges that test his passion and power. The revolutionaries are in a desperate situation, which is why Franklin was sent by Congress to convince France to aid them with guns and money. The ultimate goal was to have France join the Americans in the war.

According to the director, Douglas, who has won an Academy Award twice, was an ideal choice to portray the founding father. The director pointed out that Douglas possessed many qualities that embodied Franklin's views. He was intelligent, captivating, and up-to-date with global and personal events. Additionally, he had an inquisitive mind and a strong passion for life.

In my opinion, out of all the Founding Fathers, he stands out as the one I can connect with the most on a personal level. He truly represents the American way of life and embodies its spirit. Even though he had his faults, he was also incredibly intelligent, charming, and could even be considered one of the first comedians of his time. I just really enjoy him as a person and would love to hang out with him if I could. He's relatable to people because he's a believer in humanism, a lover of freedom, and imperfect just like the rest of us.

In the third episode, the stars Michael Douglas and Ludivine Sagnier will be appearing in a TV series called "Franklin." It will be available for streaming on Apple TV+ starting on April 12, 2024.

The miniseries portrays a important bond between Franklin and Madame Brillon, acted by Ludivine Sagnier. Ellis stated that Madame Brillon offered a unique perspective to examine French society from a female perspective.

The history has forgotten this lady entirely. She was an exceptionally talented musician who was skilled in playing both piano and harpsichord in Europe. Even renowned composers like Boccherini, who was her mentor, and J.S. Bach, respected her talent and wrote suites for her. She used to perform these compositions during exclusive concerts. However, the scenario in French society during that time was dominated by men, causing her to face quite a lot of challenges.

The epic period piece features a talented cast including Noah Jupe, Thibault de Montalembert, Daniel Mays, Ludivine Sagnier, Eddie Marsan, Asaad Bouab, Jeanne Balibar, and Théodore Pellerin.
