Serie A title a "formality" for Inter Milan after Lecce win?

Inter Milan

Can Inter Milan consider themselves the Serie A champions already, as they effortlessly beat Lecce 4-0?

According to FCInterNews, an article in Gazzetta dello Sport's physical newspaper today implies that it is indeed true.

Inter has won their 21st game in Serie A this season at Via del Mare.

Inter Milan has only suffered one defeat this season, which was against Sassuolo back in September. They have managed to secure draws in their matches against Bologna, Juventus, and Genoa.

On the other hand, Inter have been continuously winning.

The Nerazzurri managed to keep their opponents from scoring again yesterday. This feat has been achieved a total of sixteen times in the league so far. Additionally, it was Emil Audero's first time managing to keep a clean sheet while wearing an Inter shirt in the league.

Inter has scored a total of 63 goals in the league this season. Meanwhile, they have only conceded 12 goals, meaning their goal difference is a whopping +51.

In the meantime, Lautaro Martinez, the captain of Inter, managed to score twice, which adds up to a total of 22 goals in Serie A since the beginning of the season.

This means that the Argentine player is now even more ahead of his competitors and is likely to end the season with the most goals scored in Serie A.

Inter has achieved an impressive feat by securing a perfect score of ten victories in ten matches this year. This includes their outstanding performance in the league, as well as their wins in the Supercoppa Italiana and the Champions League.

Inter gained three points against Lecce and now have a nine-point lead over Juventus in the Serie A standings. Juventus won against Frosinone earlier in the day, but they are still behind Inter.

This means that the Nerazzurri have not yet played their game that they have scheduled against the Bianconeri. They are set to take on Atalanta later on this week.

That presents a considerable disparity.

Inter hasn't officially and definitively secured the title as of now.

The Nerazzurri still have a long way to go before they can make that claim.

The overall sentiment is that Inter's victories are contributing to the team's progress. In a challenging away game, with several players rotated, the team secured a decisive 4-0 triumph. Each win seems to be a building block towards success for Inter.

According to the Gazzetta, it is simply a matter of fulfilling a requirement.

It is not a question of "if" but rather "when" Inter will confirm their position as champions.
