British Airways had to cancel many flights because of a systems outage. At least 60 flights were canceled. Many passengers were affected.

The airline had an IT collapse. This was bad. It caused delays. Departures were late. Inbound flights were late too.

Recently, there have been a lot of system failures for this company. These have caused chaos for days and have cost the company millions of pounds in compensation. This is the most recent system failure.

Many flights at Heathrow Airport have been cancelled, including numerous short-distance flights and a few long-distance ones. This has happened just before the busy travel day at the beginning of the bank holiday weekend and half-term break.

The airline is fixing a problem that happened today. The teams are working hard on it. They say sorry for the trouble. Thanks to customers who are waiting.

People are lining up for a long time at Heathrow Airport. They're doing this because they want to find other flights. Also, some people who've just arrived can't get off the plane.

Lots of flights cancelled from Heathrow to cities like Vienna, Dublin, Dusseldorf, Edinburgh, Venice, Rome, Hamburg, Aberdeen, and Milan. There are also cancelled flights to Boston, New York JFK, and Mumbai. These are all long-distance flights.

London Gatwick was also affected by BA flights.

The carrier's booking system went offline because of the outage. Customers couldn't access their bookings or accounts and couldn't check in for flights. But it was only for a short time.

In 2021, British Airways made a profit again. This is the first time since 2019.

IAG, the parent company of Iberia, Aer Lingus, and Vueling, made £7.9m profit in Q1 2023. This is a big jump from the £660m loss in Q1 2022. They are also expecting a great summer.

BA advised customers to check in for their flights as usual.
